ok, i have been taking lessons at this place for like a year now and lately she has been cutting us short on our time. in the beginning when we(me and my sister) first started taking lessons with her she said we would get 1 hr. 1/2 to 2 hrs. to allow time for tacking and untacking — that is why my sister and i were so excited to take lessons there b/c she gave us a full hr. on the horse.

well lately she has been cutting us very short on our riding time like only giving us 30 min. or less sometimes.

we pay $50 for the two of us to ride for a hour. and in the beginning she promised 1 hr. OF RIDING and she would give us extra time for tacking up and untacking.

the last lesson my mom complained to here and said that we weren’t getting what she promised us and my lesson teacher said well they have learned what they needed to learn and that the lesson horses can’t go any further in the disapline of barrel racing. i understand that— but she just should have told us that we were basically done with barrel racing.
here is the website. www.triplecreekfarmnc.com

so i guess my question is what is your lesson place like, your lesson teacher?? how much time does he/she give you to ride? do you enjoy it? do you have your own horse that you ride in the lessons? how much do you pay? do you take group lessons or private? what state do you take your lessons in?

any suggestions on what me and my sister should do?
thanks much

I ride at Cornerstone farm (texas and yes its english) and I absolutely love it. It is the most amazing riding barn ever, at least for me. My instructor is great and i really like the way she teaches.

I pay $50 for an hour private, or $35 for an hour group. I’ve been personally riding private for a while, but switched to group so I could ride with my friend and have to pay less. I really like group cause then you get to watch other people doing the same thing you are and see what they mess up on and see if you do the same. We ride for the full hour, we just expect to get there at least half an hour earlier and leave after our horses are taken care of.
I ride lesson horses, but i like it that way because I get to learn on different horses.

I think you guys should switch barns. First of all, shes cheating you out of half of your lesson and it doesn’t seem like shes going to change since your mom already talked to her. Secondly, if her excuse is that you have learned what you can learn (which there is always something to learn) then what is she going to be teaching you in your really short lessons?
